Police Logs: soccer tournaments cancelled, several thefts

Friday, July 31

7:16 a.m. Stray Animals: An older black dog with a grey muzzle was seen wandering around Spotswood Street. An officer responded and no report was taken.

8:25 a.m. Stray Animals: A small mixed breed dog was found without a collar on Arborcrest Road. The reporting party had the dog in custody. An officer responded and transported the Humane Society. No report was taken.

8:56 a.m. Stray Animals: A reporting party found a stray dog on Elm Street and University Avenue. An officer responded and transported the dog to the Humane Society. No report was taken.

9:45 a.m. Civil Calls: A caller reported adults and children were not wearing masks at Moscow Middle School, but could not tell how many people were together. An officer responded and no report was taken.

9:56 a.m. Vehicle Prowl: Items were stolen out of a vehicle on Indian Hills Drive at some point last week, but the caller noticed that day. There was no damage to the vehicle and the door was left unlocked. Officers responded and a report was taken.

10:47 a.m. Theft Other: A caller reported his items stolen from E C Street while he was in jail. An officer responded and a report was taken.

1:40 p.m. Theft Other: A person shoplifted at Spence at about 12:03 p.m. The reporting party had video footage and a vehicle description. An officer responded and a report was taken.

2:15 p.m. Disorderly Conduct: A man was seen walking on W Sixth and S Line Streets and screaming he will shoot people. No report was taken.

3:26 p.m. Vehicle Prowl: Money was stolen out of a truck at University Inn. The doors of the truck don’t lock. An officer responded and a report was taken.

4:04 p.m. Civil Calls: A caller reported about 30 people not wearing masks in Friendship Square. An officer was advised and no report was taken.

5:38 p.m. Stray Animals: Two dogs ran up to a woman on N Almon Street and ran off. An officer responded and no report was taken.

9:31 p.m. Litter/Pollution/Public Health: A vehicle drove by N Lilly and W C Streets and dumped glass. An officer responded and no report was taken.

Saturday, Aug. 1

6:41 a.m. Gunshot Sounds: A woman heard gunshot sounds near Thatuna Avenue and Ponderosa Drive. She didn’t see anything and didn’t know where it came from, but knew it was close. Officers responded and no report was taken.

8:06 a.m. Malicious Mischief: A window was broken on a vehicle on Henley Street, but the reporting party did not believe it was a vehicle prowl. Officers responded and a report was taken.

8:25 a.m. Other Law Enforcement Calls: Multiple problems were reported with the city-wide soccer tournaments. An officer advised and no report was taken.

11:19 a.m. Civil Calls: A caller asked about the sports tournament at Mountain View Park, worrying about masks and social distancing. An officer advised and no report was taken.

2:01 p.m. Civil Calls: A caller reported a soccer event at multiple parks in Mountain View Park and asked about mask laws. An officer advised and no report was taken.

4:27 p.m. Outside Fire: A grill caught fire on a porch on N Jefferson Street. The fire caught the guardrail and someone was trying to put it out with an extinguisher. No one answered the door.

7:32 p.m. Theft Other: A reported party said some people took a basketball hoop from a fraternity on College Avenue about 20 minutes ago. An officer responded and no report was taken.

7:49 p.m. Other Law Enforcement Calls: A reporting party was concerned about a soccer tournament at Eggan Youth Center where no one was wearing masks or social distancing. An officer responded and no report was taken.

Sunday, Aug. 2

6:33 a.m. Suspicious Person/Circumstance: A man asked the reporting party to come over to him on S Blaine Street and White Avenue. She said no and he cursed her out. The woman got scared and walked away quickly. An officer responded and no report was taken.

8:14 a.m. Harassment: A man came up to a group at Moscow Armory yelling and trying to start trouble, but did not attempt anything physical. Officers responded and no report was taken.

9:27 a.m. Civil Calls: Parks and Recreation advised it was ordered by the mayor to cancel the tournaments at Mountain View, Oiler and Lena Whitmore Parks. An officer responded and cleared the parks. No report was taken.

5:13 p.m. Citizen Dispute: A man pulled a woman down by her hair and into a car near Pape Machinery. An officer responded and a report was taken.

7:30 p.m. Malicious Mischief: A reporting party found a few things around his house on E Sixth Street had been vandalized. He had been camping a lot and people mess with his signs and plants while he is gone. An officer responded and a report was taken.

8:04 p.m. Harassment: A man was following the reporting party on W A and N Lilly Streets and trying to hit him with a stick. Officers responded and arrested the man for assault. A report was taken.
