This orange juice smoothie requires only six ingredients to beat the summer heat.
The recipe makes one large glass or two small glasses and can be doubled for a larger group. This orange juice smoothie is great to make in the mornings as a small breakfast. It’s low in calories and takes only five minutes to make.
Though not in the recipe, other ingredients can be added to take this recipe up a notch. You can add ¼ cup of sugar or honey to sweeten the mixture. I use milk fortified with Vitamin D, but soy, almond or oat milk is a good alternative.
What you’ll need
- ½ cup orange juice
- ½ cup milk or milk substitute
- six ice cubes
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ cup water
- ½ cup strawberries
Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. If you’d like, add more ice while blending to thicken the consistency. Enjoy!
