Crumbs: broccoli bites

Broccoli bites | Nicole Hindberg

Broccoli is a healthy snack for anyone to try, but most people only absolutely love or hate it.

This recipe is great for both of those people because it changes up the snack and tastes delicious.

Servings: About 12 bites
Cook time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 broccoli head
  • ¼ cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup flour
  • Garlic salt

Does this recipe sound good? Here are some more delicious recipes from our staff. They’ve made  garlic shrimp,  a copycat Waffle House hashbrown bowl and homemade pretzel bites.

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.
  1. Cut the broccoli into florets and steam them, either on the stove or in the microwave.
  1. Once steamed, chop the broccoli finely and add to a large bowl.
  1. Add the cheese, flour, egg and garlic salt to the bowl. Mix everything together well.
  1. On a greased pan, portion the mixture into bite-sized pieces. Use a spoon or cookie dough scooper to make the bites.
  1. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown on the outside.
  1. Serve warm and with your preferred dipping sauce. I used ranch.
