Welcome in the warm weather with online and outdoor activities this summer. Although there haves been some modifications to this year, that doesn’t mean that we can’t still get out and have fun. Masks and webcams on, here are the best events the Palouse has to offer this week.  

Moscow Drive-In 

  • Time: 8 p.m. 
  • Date: Saturday 
  • Place: UI Kibbie Dome 
  • Price: Free 

Drive up to the Kibbie Dome Saturday and enjoy a film. University of Idaho, the City of Moscow and Kenworthy Performing Arts Center are co-hosting drive-in movies every Saturday. Space is limited to 140 cars so be sure to get there quick. This week, Shrek will be showing. All ages are welcome to enjoy this animated family friendly comedy.  

SPR 2020 Downtown Scavenger Hunt  

  • Time: 8:00 a.m. 
  • Date: Saturday to Tuesday  
  • Place: Palouse Library 
  • Price: Free 

Get ready for a fun scavenger hunt this week. Find a photo or item in seven business windows downtown. Earn two points for each item and an extra three points for posting a photo on the library’s Facebook page. Be entered to win a prize by dropping off completed lists to the library’s book drop off. Item lists can be found at the event Facebook page or at the Palouse Library. Remember to keep a safe six foot distance and be ready for the hunt. 

Summer Reading Virtual Performance with Magician Star Alexander  

  • Time: 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. 
  • Date: Wednesday  
  • Place: Online Event 
  • Price: Free 

Celebrate Summer Reading together while staying apart. Join a live virtual performance with audience participation this week. Star Alexander will perform magic and leave the audience in awe. The performance will debut on Latah County Library District’s Facebook page. A question and answer segment will follow the show.

Pullman Farmers Market 

  • Time: 3:30 p.m. 
  • Date: Wednesday 
  • Place: Brelsford WSU Visitor Center 
  • Price: Free 

Get out of the house and support local vendors at the farmers market. There are all sorts of goodies to enjoy. Grab a bite and support artists by browsing or spending a few bucks. The market is returning for the summer, with some modifications. No more than 10 patrons at a time will be allowed on the lawn, no food can be eaten on site, sampling items will not be allowed, social distancing is required and sending one person to the shops is preferable when possible.  

Father’s Day Drive-By Car Parade 

  • Time: 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. 
  • Date: Friday 
  • Place: Hilltop Inn Parking Lot 
  • Price: Free 

Is there a decorative car sitting in your garage waiting to be shown off? Are you waiting for your fascination to be satisfied? Come to the parade this Friday and watch beautiful vintage cars drive by. Celebrate Father’s Day by helping or watching the parade. The lineup will start at Hilltop Inn Parking Lot.
