Black Lives Matter (BLM) protests on the Palouse continue with Pullman’s second protest, which will take place on Washington State University’s (WSU) campus.
The protest is scheduled to begin 5 p.m. today at Martin Stadium.
“Black Lives Matter has put out a call to make this Friday a national day of protest, and we are answering that call,” said the event’s Facebook page.
The page stated the protest will start with distinguished speakers, activists and a band.
The organizers of the protest want to keep it campus focused. Protesters will march from Martin Stadium through Terrell Mall to the President’s Mansion, currently occupied by WSU President Kirk Schulz.
So far, 173 people have responded as “going” to the event and 502 have responded as “interested” in the event.
“We hope that with a combined focus from WSU and Pullman residents we can actively fight systemic racism in our academic institution and in academia, as well as in the Pullman Community,” the event page said.
