Feronia Boutique welcomed its first customers to its new space in Moscow Wednesday. The boutique is filled with bohemian wears for wellness and the home

Jessica Brierly, owner of Feronia Boutique, always wanted to have her own business.

“Last year about this time, I got my business all setup as an LLC and I was doing pop up and markets,” Brierly said. “I had gained a little bit of traction and notoriety in the community, which really gave me the go-ahead and the confidence to get it brick-and-mortar.”

Brierly welcomes local art in her shop. It’s important to her to have space for that.

“I’ve got art that I create,” said Brierly, “I decorate animal skulls and work with different bones, kind of reinvigorating the life after death. Then I have a lot of other local artists that’ll be hosting or using this spot to host some of their works and clothes that they create.”

Feronia will offer women’s clothing, shoes, accessories, personal care, plants, local art and more.

“It’s got a little bit of everything,” Brierly said. “I even carry some small furniture. It’s a small little nook with a variety of little wondrous things that can help develop you and your home style.”

Brierly’s shop is located at 116 South Jackson Street suite B in Moscow.

“I’d like the community to know that all are welcome,” Brierly said. “This is a safe space for people to come and just enjoy and visit, as well as gain inspiration for different design and decorative ideas.”

One of Brierly’s opening challenges has been developing a website and offering alternative means of sales to create a safe space during the COVID-19 pandemic. She offers different accommodations to aid customers in feeling safer in the boutique.

“Those things are still developing,” Brierly said. “As far as keeping people safe when they do come into my physical space, I’ve got hand sanitizer by the door, I’m asking people to be courteous about social distancing and wear masks. I also have, if you don’t come in with a mask, handmade masks here that are washable so I can take them home and reuse them in the store.”

According to Feronia Boutique’s Facebook page, the shop’s hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
