Bachelor breakdown

The finale of “Listen to Your Heart” is nothing short of exciting

And just like that, in a flash, the first season of “Listen to Your Heart” is over. I can’t believe it. It seems like yesterday when I saw the previews and thought the show looked stupid, but then I got sucked into all the drama, enjoying every minute I’ve watched.

The finale, which aired Monday night, was nothing short of excitement. Chris Harrison announced there was going to be a fantasy suite, just like any other Bachelor franchise that has aired on television.

The idea of having a fantasy suite scared Matt and was the breaking point to his and Rudi’s relationship. After this announcement, he talked with her and said their relationship wasn’t there yet and they should go home. Rudi, of course, flipped out and cried.

It was difficult to watch. Watching a breakup is never fun. You could tell they were both hurting. Matt really did care about Rudi and he showed it until they left. The audience was enticed by their performance of “Shallow” on the stage last week, which ended up being their last performance. When they got in the limos and went their separate ways, we saw flashbacks of their relationship. It was truly heartbreaking.

After this devastating breakup, the two couples left realized how serious this was getting.

Jamie and Trevor took the fantasy suite and seemed to be much more in love afterwards, whereas Chris and Bri decided to not spend the night together. I was shocked to see this was the case considering they have been together since episode one, but I can see why they didn’t want to. They said they wanted to get to know each other more on an emotional level before getting intimate and they would get intimate when the time was right. They left each other that evening to go to their individual rooms with grace, you could see they were still in love with each other.

In the morning it seemed all was lost between Bri and Chris because their rehearsal didn’t go well. Not only that, the way they edited the show made it seem like all was lost because they weren’t talking, and the footage switched to scenes of Jamie and Trevor feeding each other after their fantasy suite.

Yuck.

But now it was time for the winning performance. Who won the judges hearts and got the prize at the end of it all? Well, the contestants had to step up this week because they performed not one song, but two.

And both couples brought it.

They performed with smiles on their faces and love in their hearts — it showed how far their love has come throughout the journey.

But in the end, the judges chose Bri and Chris as season one’s “Listen to Your Heart” champions. I could not be more thrilled. I have been rooting for them since the beginning. I am sad the show is over, but I am hoping for more seasons to come because singing and love are a perfect combination.

I was left with one question. Are the couples still together?

I did some research and it seems Bri and Chris are still together. Natasha and Ryan and Rudi and Matt are working on their relationships. As for Jamie and Trevor, it looks like they hit the end of the road with their relationship.

So where does Bachelor nation go from here? On June 8, the best seasons of Bachelor nation will be aired, probably because they can’t film “Bachelor in Paradise” due to COVID-19, so be sure to tune in. Other than that, it is just a waiting game to see when “The Bachelorette” will be aired on television. While you’re waiting for your favorite Bachelor franchise to air again, be sure to check out Bri and Chris’s new album “Chris and Bri.” It’s amazing and you should definitely give it a listen.

Thanks for following me along for this season and as always, listen to your heart, Bachelor nation.
