LIFE Hacks: ways to be social during the end of self-isolation

The University of Idaho and others are offering a Drive in for the next four Saturdays

As self-isolation comes close to an end, we can start to see new events emerging, inviting us to embrace the presence of others. Both physical and online events are open to socialize and be a distraction from the pandemic. Here are some things to do in Moscow this week.

Moscow Drive-In

  • Time: 8 p.m.
  • Date: Saturday
  • Place: ASUI-Kibbie Activity Center
  • Price: Free

What better way to spend Saturday evenings than a drive-in movie? For the next month, University of Idaho Vandal Entertainment, the City of Moscow and Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre will be hosting a drive-in movie every Saturday. Space is limited to 140 cars so be sure to get there quick. This week, the film “Yesterday” will be showing. Argue with your friends and Ed Sheeran about whether “Hey Dude” really sounds better than “Hey Jude.”

Living Room Dance Party 90’s Edition

  • Time: 7 p.m. – 12 a.m.
  • Date: Saturday
  • Place: Online Event
  • Price: Free

Get a move on from the living room and dance the night away. The party will be streamed live here or on Twitch. People can also join the dance party and be featured on the livestream on Zoom. The meeting ID will be announced the night of the party. The theme is 90’s and everyone is encouraged to set the mood and dress up.

Wine Down Wednesday

  • Time: 5 p.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Date: Wednesday
  • Place: Online Event
  • Price: Free

Attention Winos, virtual Wine Down Wednesday is not an event to miss. Coco and Karl Umiker, UI alumni from Clearwater Canyon Cellars, will be speaking. Come relax with a favorite glass of wine or preferred beverage and hang out with others Wednesday evening.

Vandal Family Paint Night

  • Time: 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
  • Date: Friday
  • Place: Online Event
  • Price: $20 – $45

It’s important to exercise your creative mind and Vandal Family Paint Night is the perfect way to do it. Moscow’s Wild at Art will be there to guide and teach techniques to make a great piece. Paint night will walk everyone through a paint pour project, a fun and easy way to make impressive art. Tickets can be found at here.
