The South Central Public Health District confirmed community spread of COVID-19 in Minidoka County on May 15, according to a press release from the health district.
The individual under investigation by SCPHD did not travel or contact another person with COVID-19. The press release stated public health officials expect more confirmed cases in Minidoka county and recommend all residents assume the virus could be anywhere.
“Even as the state works toward reopening, we are still seeing new cases in almost all of our counties,” SCPHD Public Health Division Administrator Logan Hudson said. “This is a good reminder that the virus is still very active and we all need to do our part to protect our communities.”
