Gov. Brad Little announced a plan to reopen Idaho, during a press conference Thursday. The four-stage plan, Idaho Rebounds, was published on the Idaho state government website.
If criteria for each stage are met in the estimated timeline, Little said Idaho should be back to “somewhat normal” by June 26. He did say, however, Idaho will not be truly back to normal until a vaccine has been completed. The timeline will be re-evaluated every two weeks to determine if criteria have been met to move to the next stage.
The current stage will last at least through April 30. All Idahoans must continue to self-quarantine except for essential activities. Telework is encouraged and visits to senior living facilities, jails and non-essential businesses are prohibited. Gatherings and non-essential travel are prohibited as well. The plan encourages non-essential businesses to develop plans for reopening during this time.
Little emphasized the importance of providing a guide to reopening because it provides confidence and certainty.
Further information on the press conference and Idaho Rebounds will follow this report.
