Eastern Idaho Public Health (EIPH) confirmed three new cases of COVID-19 in Madison County with two of the three being from community spread.
The press release from Eastern Idaho Public Health brings the health district’s total confirmed cases to 13.
The two community spread cases are a man in his 60s and a female in her 40s. Neither of these cases has had contact with a positive case of COVID-19 or recent travel.
The other individual is a female in her 20s who had contact with a positive case in another state.
“As we have watched the progression of this pandemic across the nation and Idaho, we knew that at some point we would experience community transmission. This is where the Governor’s Stay Home order really comes into play to help us slow the spread. If you have not been taking the matter seriously, now is the time to start,” Geri Rackow, EIPH Director, stated in the press release. “Staying home at the first sign of even the mildest of symptoms is going to help the disease from being spread to others.”
