Nez Perce County confirmed five new cases of COVID-19, according to a press release from North Central Public Health District (PH-INCD) March 30.
There are now 10 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in north central Idaho, with nine of them being in Nez Perce County. The county reported its first positive case March 24 and its first death from COVID-19 Friday.
Nez Perce County is located in northern Idaho with its largest city being Lewiston.
Investigation into the new cases is in the preliminary stage, according to the release. Four of the five additional cases involve individuals over the age of 75. The other individual is in their 50s. None of the cases required hospitalization and all are recovering at home.
Epidemiologists with PH-INCD are working to determine locations visited by the patients and investigating any close contacts. Additional information about the cases is not known at this time.
