On March 26, the Moscow City Council called an emergency meeting to approved Resolution No. 2020-07 to extend Public Health Emergency Order No. 20-02, until May 5.
Moscow Mayor Bill Lambert issued Public Health Emergency Order No. 20-02 on March 24 to extend closures outlined in Public Health Emergency Order No. 20-01 to gyms, tattoo parlors, barbershops, churches, schools and salons and to restrict mass gatherings.
Failure to follow the emergency order will result in a misdemeanor with a mandatory visit to a judge and a $1,000 fine.
Order No. 20-02 went into effect at 12:00 a.m. March 25.
School playgrounds structures, city playground structures, Lion’s Field playground structure, basketball courts, the Skate Park at Egan Youth Center, restrooms in Moscow’s parks and downtown are closed.
Parks and green spaces will remain open, according to the City of Moscow’s COVID-19 website page.
Public Health Emergency Order No. 20-02 also said “there shall be no gatherings in groups of more than ten (10) persons within a facility within the boundaries of the City of Moscow.”
The order applies to assemblies of the general public, churches and religious organizations, and educational institutions, according to the City of Moscow COVID-19 website page.
According to the City of Moscow, there would be no utility shutoffs due to the emergency orders.
