Due to University of Idaho building closures because of COVID-19 concerns, only three Vandal Food Pantries will be accessible on campus.
The three locations are located in front of the Center for Volunteerism and Social Action (a temporary move from the regular location of Student Support Services), outside the Student Media offices on the third floor of the Pitman Center and the Library Map Room, room 105.
Pantries are open to everyone to donate to or take food from. They are stocked with nonperishable food, grocery bags and other items.
The Vandal Food Pantry is partnering with the Women’s Center and UI Recreation and Wellbeing to stock the pantries with women’s hygiene products and safer sex supplies.
Due to COVID-19 concerns, the Mobile Food Pantry will be run on a drive through or walk through style basis until further notice. Typically, Mobile Food Pantries allow beneficiaries to choose their own foods, but because of this change the food will be pre-packaged, meaning the food is selected beforehand.
Mobile Food Pantries are held on the first Wednesday of each month during the academic year (September through May) from noon to 2 p.m. The pantry is located at Parking Lot 108 on the west side of the Student Recreation Center.
