Troy Junior Senior High School and Troy Elementary School will also be closed March 2 for cleaning as a precautionary measure regarding the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), according to a social media post from Brad T. Malm, Troy School District #287 superintendent.
“Jackson HS band members stayed at a local high school’s gymnasium. Our school hosted band members from Payette, Idaho, on Thursday and Friday night in the gym,” according to the social media post. “Although the risk is extremely low at this time, we are taking additional measures to provide extra disinfectant and will clean and sanitize all areas.”

Genesee School will be closed March 2 for cleaning as a precautionary measure regarding the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), according to Wendy Moore, Genesee Joint School District 282 superintendent, in an announcement on their website.
Henry M. Jackson High School stayed at Genesee school as a tradition of the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival to lower their costs.
“The Jackson High student who is ill WAS NOT part of the group who stayed in our building,” according to the Genesee website. “The Health Department has also assured us that the students who did stay in our building were not in contact with the student who was ill.”
Genesee School should reopen on Tuesday, according to its website.
The students from Jackson High School participated in events at the University of Idaho during Jazz Fest.
UI’s campus will remain open Monday, Jodi Walker, UI’s director of communication, said. Facilities have been cleaned since the participating Jazz Fest students left.
