Things to do this week to get out into the Palouse

Get ready Moscow, events this week are hot, hot, hot! It’s a time to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, the LGBTQA community, unwind at annual picnics and artist’s performances. Get out of the house and get out into the Palouse. Here are all the best events going on this week.

  • Time: 5 p.m. – 6 p.m.
  • Date: Monday
  • Place: Colter’s Creek Winery
  • Price: Free

Monday, Latah County Historical Society will be hosting a heritage event to celebrate culture. The event will consist of a three-part speaker series complimenting the Smithsonian Institution’s traveling exhibit “Crossroads: Change in Rural America.” Crossroads explores communities in the Palouse that have raced economic, demographic and cultural changes in the past 100 years. The first presentation is scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m.

Palouse French Film Festival 2019 | Tuesday

Time: 7 p.m. – 9 p.m.

  • Date: Tuesday
  • Place: Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre
  • Price: all four shows: $10, individual films: $5

Come join and explore French film at the Kenworthy. The University of Idaho and Washington State University are proud to present the Palouse French Film Festival 2019, through the month of October. The film showing Tuesday is Chez nous (This is our Land.) Admission is free for UI and WSU students, tickets can be found on the Kenworthy’s website.

Celebrating LGBTQIA+ People of Color on the Palouse | Wednesday

  • Time: 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
  • Date: Wednesday
  • Place: Unitarian Universalist Church of the Palouse
  • Price: Free

As National Coming Out Day approaches, there is no better time to celebrate all diverse identities. This Wednesday, Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays, Moscow is inviting you to celebrate all identities, orientations and cultures throughout the Palouse. The event will feature a panel of speakers who are a part of the LGBTQA community and people of color who will be sharing their coming out stories and life on the Palouse. All are welcome to attend and celebrate diversity in the community.


Two Point Oh | Friday

  • Time: 8 p.m. – 10 p.m.
  • Date: Friday
  • Place: One World Cafe
  • Price: Free

Come join Two Point Oh this Friday at One World Cafe. Their music is guaranteed to get you dancing. They play a variety of rock, pop, prog, metal and jazz. Admission is free but a $5 donation is encouraged. Grab a drink and don’t miss this Friday’s performance.

  • Place: 902 S Harrison St.
  • Price: $9.25 per ticket

Come listen to Fall House’s show with new exciting music to listen to. Space is limited, so reserve your spot as soon as you can! Tickets come with a free voucher for a beverage. You can buy tickets online or in person, it is better to get them online to get the pre-show discount. All ages are welcome, kids 12-years-old and under are free.

  • Date: Sunday
  • Place: Palouse Habitat for Humanity
  • Price: Free

Come join the Habit for Humanity staff for their fifth annual – volunteer potluck picnic. They will be providing fried chicken and drinks but it is encouraged to bring sides and desserts. You can sign up on their website to RSVP for this event.
