Behind a rowdy Kibbie Dome, the biggest rivalry in the state is a great way to kick off the upcoming season for the Vandals. Unfortunately, the lack of experience might cost the Vandals the first game of the season but could start as an early learning curve for the upcoming year. A competitive and nail-biting match will ultimately finish in a Bronco win.

This squad is young. Any rivalry game for even the most seasoned athletes presents its own challenges, let alone against such a strong team. While Idaho may have home field advantage, it will only get them so far. Check back in next year when this team has had a chance to solidify and make some waves.

There is no better way to start off the year than with a rivalry game, and the Vandals and Broncos have been can’t miss soccer over the last few years. With a solid group of returning starters, Idaho will be able to keep their structure and find results against a team with the best goal scorer in the country. Head coach Jeremy Clevenger has had a full offseason to implement his game plan, so expect this slug fest to go the distance and end in a draw.
Max Rothenberg—Idaho 1, Boise State 4
Remember the movie “Kicking and Screaming” with Will Ferrell? This may very well be the real life embodiment of the 2005 classic. Or maybe it won’t. Regardless, I’m looking forward to watching the first soccer game of my college career.
