Freshman guard Cameron Tyson will reportedly transfer to the University of Houston following a 5-27 season with the Vandals.
“I would like to start off by saying thank you to all the coaches that have taken the time to recruit me. I would like to thank my family and mentors for all the knowledge, wisdom and support that you guys have given me throughout this whole process,” Tyson said in an Instagram post Wednesday. “With that being said, I’m happy to announce that I’m committing to the University of Houston.”
Houston officials haven’t yet confirmed Tyson’s transfer and couldn’t be reached for comment, but he is no longer on Idaho’s roster for the upcoming year.
The Houston Cougars are coming off a 33-4 season, which included an appearance in the NCAA Tournament’s Sweet Sixteen.
The Bothell, Washington, native averaged more than 13 points a game, breaking the Big Sky record for 3-pointers by a freshman in a single season.
The Argonaut will continue to follow the story as more information is made available.
