The Idaho State Board of Education announced in a news release that it plans to interview finalists this week for the University of Idaho and Boise State University presidencies.
They also said that candidate, Paul Tikalsky, has withdrawn from consideration. Tikalsky is Dean of the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology at Oklahoma State University. He visited campus last week, along with the four other finalists. The finalists still in consideration are as follows:
- Christopher Callahan, founding dean of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University
- Diane Chase, executive vice president and provost of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas
- Scott Green, global chief operating officer and financial office at Hogan Lovells, an international Law Firm
- Elizabeth Spilller, dean of the college of Letters and Science at the University of California, Davis
The candidates will be interviewed, along with the top four finalists for Boise State University, in executive session at the Board Office. BSU candidates will be interviewed Wednesday while UI finalists will be interviewed Thursday.
A BSU finalist, Darren Dawson, also withdrew from consideration.
The board hopes to name new presidents at both institutions by April, according to the news release.
The board will also consider a request by UI to build a new arena for basketball and other sports Thursday after its executive session, the release states.
