One of the women’s basketball Splash Sisters for women’s was awarded conference player of the week Monday.
Coming off two wins, both on the road against Southern Utah and Northern Arizona, senior guard Mikayla Ferenz was awarded her second Conference Player of the Week honor by College Sports Madness.
Ferenz got it done on both ends of the court for Idaho, averaging nearly 20 points, five rebounds and nine assists while shooting 36 percent from the field and 91 percent from the free throw line while. She also averaged two block and two steals.
With 2,126 points in her career so far, the Walla Walla, Washington native currently sits in second place on Idaho’s all-time scoring list. She needs only 15 points to break Alli Nieman’s record that has stood since the 2000 season.
Idaho is on a four-game winning streak and now have its eyes set on the next game against Montana, who was the last team to beat Idaho before this current winning streak.
Idaho plays Montana 6 p.m. Thursday in Cowan Spectrum.
