In honor of Valentine’s Day, the University of Idaho Margaret Ritchie School of Family and Consumer Sciences will host two cookie decorating classes 6 p.m. Thursday and Feb. 12.
The three-hour event, which partners with Candi’s Cookies, costs $25 for students and $50 for general registration. Each participant will make 10 cookies, utilizing the “state-of-the art” Carmelita Spencer Foods Laboratory in the Mary Hall Niccolls Building.
“You will learn all the tips to make a delicious tasting sugar cookie that will hold its shape, steps to make royal icing, coloring the icing so that the colors don’t bleed and mixing it to a perfect consistency for a smooth finish,” according to the Facebook event.
Those interested are encouraged to register early, since space is limited and caps off at 20 participants, with 10 spots reserved for UI students.
If the class becomes full, email [email protected] to be put on a waiting list. Thursday’s class is currently sold out.
