University of Idaho Provost and Executive Vice President John Wiencek will be interviewed for an identical position at Louisiana State University, according to Business Report.
Wiencek will interview with LSU Dec. 4, more than a year after UI President Chuck Staben interviewed for a president position at the University of New Mexico.
LSU will interview three additional candidates: David Brennen from the University of Kentucky, Stacia Haynie of LSU and Larry Singell from the University of Indiana, according to the report.
“As part of their interviews, candidates will speak at open forums to which all members of the LSU community are invited to attend. We encourage your participation in this important process,” the LSU search committee said in a prepared statement. “An online survey will be made available to provide feedback on the candidates that will be shared with campus administration and members of the search committee.”
Wiencek has served as provost and executive vice president for UI since June 2015. He also works as the university’s chief academic officer and leads the school’s strategic planning efforts.
