In the next two weeks an umbrella rental program will begin on the University of Idaho campus, said ASUI President Nicole Skinner in her update to the senate Wednesday.
Umbrellas will be stored at the information desk and can be checked out through the use of VandalCards for up to six hours, she said. Umbrellas were donated to the project by the President’s office, Skinner said.
ASUI Vice President Carlos Vazquez said he noticed the high number of students that did not have umbrellas when unexpected weather hits and put the project in motion.
Skinner also provided an update on the upcoming release of the higher education legislative report card. The team creating the report card is currently finalizing graphics, she said. Skinner said the Idaho State Board of Education will be sharing the report card on their social media after it is released. Skinner has previously said she hoped the card would be ready to release in October.
Sen. Hannah Spear said over 160 responses have been recorded in Sen. Gautam’s menstrual hygiene bill. The survey will remain open for another week, as the senate hopes to record more responses before voting on the bill Spear said.
The Senate also passed a bill allocating $250 for the Idaho vs. Eastern Washington University football game Oct 27. The event will be free to all students in attendance, with 56 open seats available on the brave and bold bus.
