Idaho closed the final meet of the outdoor season with a number of strong performances at the Tom Cage Classic in Missoula, Montana.
Junior Rikki McCaw finished the 200-meter dash in first with a personal record time of 22.24 seconds. The performance moves him into the top-25 in the Big Sky rankings. He also took second place in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.08 seconds.
Sophomore Kaylee Hove finished in second the 200-meters in 25.62 seconds. Senior Nicole Carter grabbed a fifth-place finish in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.64 seconds and freshman Hana Tyndall finished in fifth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.43 seconds.
A number of athletes found success in the field as well. Freshman Hannah Ringel grabbed the title in the shot put with a winning throw of 12.71 meters. Sophomore Zachary Short took third in the in the discus with a toss of 50.16 meters. Freshman Makenna Behrens took fourth in the javelin with a throw of 39.81 meters.
In the distance races, sophomore Emily Wesseling placed fourth in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:55.61.
Idaho will wrap up the season at the Big Sky Outdoor Championships beginning May 8 at the Dan O’Brien Track and Field Complex.
