The University of Idaho College of Letters, Arts and Social Sciences announced Monday that Robin Johnson will take over as director of the School of Journalism and Mass Media, according to the college’s official Facebook page.
Johnson has worked at Sam Houston State University since 2010, both as an assistant and associate professor, and will assume his new position at UI Aug. 13, according to the Facebook post.
Johnson earned his Ph.D. in mass communication from the University of Iowa after attaining his master’s and bachelor’s degrees from the University of Colorado, Boulder. At Sam Houston, Johnson researched gender and its effects on the technological and digital world and has published works on masculinity in the video game production industry, according to Sam Houston’s website.
Johnson also works as the coordinator of Sam Houston’s graduate program in digital media and teaches classes on mass media writing and digital reporting, according to the school’s website.
