Looking back while moving forward — GradFest gives UI seniors a chance to prepare for upcoming graduation

University of Idaho seniors are preparing for fall graduation, and GradFest has become a time to celebrate these student’s accomplishments.

Tim Helmke, director of alumni relations, said GradFest will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday in the International Ballroom of the Pitman Center. While this event is not mandatory, Helmke encourages seniors to come and celebrate their accomplishments.

“This is a big time in their life — they should be celebrating,” Helmke said.

GradFest will allow students to purchase their graduation regalia, take photos in a photo booth and pick up a gift bag full of Vandal gear, Helmke said. It is also where students get their class ring and purchase their cap, gown and tassel for the upcoming graduation ceremony.

Honor students can pick up their honor cords at the Office of the Registrar’s check-in table.

Another GradFest, which will be two days, is held in the spring.
