Appalachian State 24 – Louisiana-Lafayette 0

 The Mountaineer defense provided the team’s first shutout performance of the season and claimed a nonconference road victory over the Ragin’ Cajuns.

Appalachian State quarterback Taylor Lamb had a 12-for-16 performance, tallying 187 yards and one touchdown. Receiver Shaedon Meadors caught five passes for 120 yards in the first half, while tight end Collin Reed added an 8-yard touchdown reception.

Quarterback Anthony Jennings led the Louisiana-Lafayette offense with 121 yards on 19-of-32 passing. The Mountaineer defense held the Ragin’ Cajun backfield to 139 yards on the night.

 

Georgia Tech 35 – Georgia Southern 24

 The Yellow Jackets used an early first-quarter lead to cruise to a nonconference home victory over the Eagles.

Georgia Tech quarterback Justin Thomas was responsible for 250 yards and three touchdowns in the win. Running back Dedrick Mills added 89 rushing yards for the Yellow Jacket backfield.

Quarterback Kevin Ellison led the Eagles with 102 yards and a touchdown on 10-of-17 passing. Wideout BJ Johnson III finished with three catches for 42 yards in the loss.

 

Troy 31 – Georgia State 21

A valiant 25-point effort in the second half propelled the Trojans over the Panthers for the team’s third conference win of the year.
Quarterback Brandon Silvers completed 20 passes for 235 yards, two touchdowns and an interception for Troy. Tailback Jordan Chunn added 91 yards and a touchdown.

Quarterback Conner Manning provided the bulk of the Georgia State offense with 381 yards and three touchdowns on 28-of-52 passing.

The Trojan defense held the Panther backfield to 37 total yards.

 

Louisiana-Monroe 40 – Texas State 34

 Despite a comeback effort by the Bobcats in the final quarter, the Warhawks held on and earned the team’s first Sun Belt victory of the season.

Freshman quarterback Will Collins sparked Louisiana-Monroe with 125 yards and two touchdowns on 9-of-15 passing. Running backs Duke Carter and Ben Luckett eclipsed 100 rushing yards in the win.

Quarterback Tyler Jones attempted 35 passes in the loss, completing 19 for 193 yards. Tailback Stedman Mayberry led the Bobcats with 87 rushing yards and a touchdown.

 

Arkansas State 17 – South Alabama 7

 The Red Wolves used strong defensive play and a 60-yard fumble recovery to hand the Jaguars a third straight conference loss.

Quarterback Justice Hansen was relatively quiet for South Alabama, going 9-of-13 from the pocket for 93 yards and an interception. Tailback Johnston White found the end zone for Arkansas State and finished with 88 rushing yards in the win.

Quarterback Dallas Davis led South Alabama with 146 yards on 9-of-15 passing. Backup quarterback Cole Garvin mustered three completions on 12 passes.
