Coffee has an unbreakable bond with college students. With rich, complex flavors and biting caffeine, it”s the lifeblood of many tired souls, weary from long nights of studying or crazed weekends of debauchery. Moscow has several great coffee shops, each unique with their own tastes, smells and atmospheres. Likewise, this wonderful campus we call our own brings together individuals of all flavors and types. The question to ask then is, which flavor are you?
Your personality: The one that is completely caught up with the Kardashians.
You love drama. Maybe not drama in your own life, but you love hearing about the dramatic and insane moments that make life worth living. You indulge in the superficial – not to say you are superficial – but when faced with the stressors of school, work and a social life, you like to indulge in things that don”t require as much thought.
You are: Starbucks.
There is nothing wrong with Starbucks, but if we are all being honest here it isn”t exactly the creme de la creme of the coffee world. Starbucks is for those who have a penchant for pop culture and gravitate toward the familiar – people who just want some delicious caramel mochas with their chocolate croissant.
Your personality: Not really the partying type.
More down to earth, more willing to be yourself over pursuing the fleeting pleasures of life. You might consider yourself an introvert, but more in the sense that you prefer having a close conversation with one person rather than babbling to a plethora of listeners. Also, you like food.
You are: Einstein”s Bagels.
For being one of the busiest locales on campus, Einstein”s can be shockingly quiet. With delicious food and underrated coffee, Einstein”s is one of Moscow”s most surprising charms.
Your personality: Artsy, and proud of it.
You indulge in the finer things in life, or whatever finer things Moscow has to offer. You constantly scoff at the terrible music tastes of your peers. Kanye West? Taylor Swift? One Direction? Not for you. You like listening to smooth jazz, or maybe some indie folk tunes, like Mumford and Sons.
You are: Bucer”s.
For being probably the most hipster place in the Palouse, Bucer”s is always pleasantly busy with a myriad of folks from different walks of life. It”s as true an indicator as anything that there is always a little hipster in all of us.
Your personality: Open and confident, yet quiet and subdued.
You like spending your time drinking your coffee with a good book, or perhaps a pleasant conversation over a game of chess. You like things slow and steady, without the hustle and bustle of the world.
You are: Cafe Artista.
Something about this noble little coffee shop brings peace to those that enter. Instead of bustling with frantic students quickly trying to down as much caffeine as possible in hopes of acing a test, those that enter Cafe Artista prefer reading a good book while occasionally pausing to stare reflectively out the window.
Your personality: The study machine.
Your life sounds like the briefing of a Mission Impossible movie. You have exactly two hours and 21 minutes to get a 95 percent on a 400 level math test in order to finish with the 3.65 GPA necessary to get into the grad school of your dreams. Your only weapon? Some incomprehensibly large textbook and as much caffeine your body can stomach without puking. Good luck soldier.
You are: One World.
For whatever reason One World has become the de facto capital of studying in Moscow. Sure, people enter a place like Bucer”s hoping to get some work done, but between the live music and constant chatter they usually just get distracted. Not at One World. When you step in there, you best be ready to get some work done.
