Former Vandal cornerback signs with Eagles
Former Idaho cornerback Aaron Grymes signed with the Philadelphia Eagles Thursday afternoon, the team announced via Twitter.
The Seattle native attended the University of Idaho from 2009-2012 and was voted a team captain during his senior season with the Vandals. Grymes recorded 248 tackles during his collegiate career and recorded an interception against Virginia as a junior.
The cornerback was signed by the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League (CFL) in May of 2013 after he went undrafted in the 2013 NFL Draft.
Grymes played in 41 games for the Eskimos during a three-year span in the CFL and recorded 101 tackles and eight interceptions. The cornerback also saw a brief stint on offense during his second year with the team and rushed for 10 yards.
Grymes was part of the 2015 Eskimos team that earned the Grey Cup title after defeating the Ottawa Redblacks 26-20. Grymes earned all-star honors with the team as a defensive back.
