There’s no place like home for the Idaho women’s basketball team.
The Vandals (8-4) ended the nonconference portion of their schedule with a 75-47 win Monday over Carroll College at the Cowan Spectrum.
Idaho shot 52.5 percent from the floor, converting 31 of 59 shot attempts.
Senior guard Christina Salvatore and senior post Renae Mokrzycki both finished with 14 points apiece. Mokrzycki also added six rebounds and three blocks, as she shot 6-6 from the field.
Freshman Taylor Pierce gave the Vandals back-to-back three-pointers, and finished the game with 12 points.
Sophomore post Geraldine McCorkell and senior post Ali Forde both contributed 10 points for the Vandals.
Idaho gained the lead over Carroll College early in the game, and held it for the entirety of the matchup.
Forde and Salvatore combined to score 18 points for Idaho in the first half, as the Vandals entered halftime with a 44-20 lead.
Idaho continued to solidify its lead in the second half with six points from Salvatore and seven from Pierce.
Junior guard Agueda Trujillo saw her first minutes of the season for the Vandals, adding two points and one assist for Idaho.
Five players finished in double-digits for Idaho at the conclusion of the game.
The loss by Carroll College was the program’s first of the season, and drops the Fighting Saints to 12-1 on the year.
Baylee Watson was the highest scorer for Carroll College with 10 points.
Idaho is now scheduled to face North Dakota Dec. 31 at 2 p.m. at the Cowan Spectrum.
