Coffeyville Community College wide receiver Alfonso Onunwor verbally committed to the University of Idaho Sunday afternoon.
Onunwor, listed as a two-star athlete by Scout.com, announced a verbal commitment to the Vandals on social media.
As a sophomore in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College League, Onunwor led Coffeyville with 75 receptions. The standout wide receiver also hauled in 10 touchdown receptions and collected a total of 906 receiving yards for the Red Ravens.
The 6-foot-2-inch recruit received 2015 All-Jayhawk Conference Honorable Mention honors after leading the league in total receptions and finishing second in the conference in yards per game.
Onunwor had received offers throughout the season from Southern Mississippi, Bowling Green, South Alabama and Troy, but eventually settled on the University of Idaho after an official recruiting visit to Moscow on Dec. 5.
Onunwor will likely join Vandal standouts Callen Hightower and Trent Cowan as the primary targets for Idaho quarterback Matt Linehan next season.
The Vandals are scheduled to open their season on Sept. 1, when the team hosts Big Sky Conference foe Montana State at the Kibbie Dome.
