Appalachian State 38 – Idaho 31
Appalachian State is 7-2 but it barely beat Troy 44-41 in triple overtime Oct. 31 and it lost to Arkansas State 40-27 Nov. 5. Idaho is playing at home for the first time since Oct. 24 when it beat Louisiana-Monroe during Homecoming Week, so the Vandals should be fired up to play in front of their home fans. The seniors only have two home games left so they will play with more intensity. Most importantly, Idaho will come out with a lot of energy and focus because of how the last two games ended.
Appalachian State 42 – Idaho 23
Despite blowing back-to-back 20-plus point leads, the Vandals offense has developed into an intimidating force in the Sun Belt Conference. Quarterback Matt Linehan has passed for at least 300 yards in the previous three games and running back Elijhaa Penny has emerged as a dominating presence on the ground. However, the Mountaineers rank second in the conference standings and average 37.4 points per game. Ultimately, Appalachian State’s dominating rushing attack will overwhelm the Vandals late in the game.
Appalachian State 41 – Idaho 27
The Vandals will have the home field advantage Saturday and the energy from the Kibbie Dome just might push Idaho to a win. Idaho will face a tough Mountaineer offense, but I think the Vandal defense will create an intense game.
Appalachian State 42 – Idaho 27
The last two games must have been extremely frustrating for the Idaho football team. The offense is doing fine without Dezmon Epps. When Matt Linehan is consistent, he has a solid presence which people tend to overlook. But for Saturday’s game against Appalachian State, the Idaho defense needs to pick up the pieces because defensive end Quinton Bradley can only do so much to carry the defense. The Vandals need more defenders to stop those big plays that have hurt them for years. If Idaho consistently plays four solid quarters, it can be a solid football program. However, the Vandals will fall short Saturday against the Mountaineers.

Appalachian State 53 – Idaho 27
The Vandals have made huge strides this season but those strides will be no match for a 7-2 Appalachian State team. Idaho will no doubt have some individual standouts in running back Elijhaa Penny, tight end receiver Deon Watson and defensive end Quinton Bradley, but a win is doubtful.
Appalachian State 31 – Idaho 21
After a crushing loss to South Alabama Saturday on the road, in which the Jaguars overcame a 24-point deficit to win, the Vandals have three tough games ahead to close out the regular season. Appalachian State has allowed an average of 18.3 points per game and has only lost to the currently No. 1-ranked Clemson Tigers and the Sun Belt Conference-leading Arkansas State Red Wolves. The Idaho offense has been tested many times this season and is coming close to something great. That said, the Vandals have not found a spark on defense, forcing few turnovers and constantly allowing big plays.
Appalachian State 41 – Idaho 10
Appalachian State is second in the Sun Belt Conference right now and Idaho sits at eighth. Appalachian State beat Georgia Southern while the Vandals lost, and I don’t think this game will be any different. Appalachian State will put up a lot of points from the start and the Vandal defense won’t be able to keep up.
