If you like porter, chocolate and cake, give this recipe a try. My significant other makes this cake and its one of my favorites. Frost with your favorite flavor of icing, I prefer cream cheese.
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1 pint porter
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 4 ounces chocolate chips
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
- Heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
- Butter a Bundt pan if you have one, any cake pan also works
- Mix dry ingredients
- Warm beer, oil and vanilla on the stove, but do not boil
- Mix liquid ingredients into dry ingredients when warm
- Mix in chocolate chips
- Bake in pan for 25 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean
- Ice the cake
