Pullman was the center of the Pac-12 men’s golf world Monday. Idaho competed with eight Pac-12 teams in the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate at Palouse Ridge Golf Club. Boise State competed as well. Idaho sits in seventh place out of ten teams after it shot a two-round, 6-under-par 554-stroke performance.
The underclassmen led the Vandals after the first day of play. Sophomores Jared du Toit and Ryan Porch shot 4-under-par 136 scores, which is tied for ninth.
Junior Rylee Iacolucci and senior Aaron Cockerill shot identical scores as well. Both are tied for 36th after shooting 1-over-par 141. Senior Sean McMullen shot 5-over-par 145 and is tied for 62nd.
Scott Riley, Daniel Sutton, Chris Wilson and Cooper Wright played as individuals for the Vandals. Wilson is tied for 56th after carding a 4-over-par 144, Sutton is tied for 62nd with a 5-over-par 145, Riley is tied for 70th with a 7-over-par 147 and Wright is in 75th with a 14-over-par 154.
Oregon leads the field with a two-round, 19-under-par 541, followed by second-place Southern California with a 17-under-par 543. Host Washington State sits in third, just one-stroke behind USC.
Rico Hoey of USC and Aaron Wise of Oregon are tied for first after shooting 9-under-par 131. Jonathon Thomas of Utah is in third and just one-stroke back of the leaders after carding an 8-under-par 132. Thomas led after the first round by shooting an 8-under-par 62.
Play continues Tuesday with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. One 18-hole round will be played.
