Moscow police confirmed a fire at the District 2 Moscow Probation and Parole Office at 2113 South Main St. shortly after 8 a.m. today.
Moscow Police Chief David Duke said the fire is considered suspicious and police are investigating possible motives. He said there are no suspects at this time.
Duke said the office was unoccupied at the time of the fire, but there was damage to internal walls and one exterior wall, which was engulfed in flames when first responders arrived. The fire was put out by 9:30 a.m. by members of the Moscow Volunteer Fire Department.
Duke said the fire originated on the exterior west wall then burned through the siding into the office where the fire escalated, causing major damage. Duke said the office will need renovations due to fire and water damage. He said windows and the west wall will need to be replaced and renovated.
