Last Friday, a tour bus left Fort Worth, Texas carrying the Casey Donahew Band from city to city.
Passing through Nebraska that day, the band is performing shows nearly every night until the end of December.
“We started this band 11 years ago,” Donahew said. “We’ve mostly stuck to playing at fairs and rodeos but we play the bar scene too.”
The majority of locations the group will be visiting consists of bars throughout Nebraska, Montana, Nevada, Idaho and other states.
With three stops on the list, the bus will be spending roughly five days in Idaho. Their last stop will be John’s Alley Tavern in Moscow is on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 9:30 p.m.
Donahew started his music career in college and he has been sticking close to the local scene since. The band’s performance will be consisting of new songs since a new album is on the verge of being produced.
Donahew said the song that he still enjoys singing even after the prolonged rehearsals and repeated recordings is his song “Fallen.”
“It’s a song about making bad choices in your life and having to fight through it,” he said.
The song tells a story of two lovers struggling in their relationship. Casey sings that he has made a tragic mistake and it is too late for his lover’s help or for redemption.
The band’s genre incorporates rock elements. The audience can expect to hear spectacular solos along with a story like lyrical method.
