From Fargo, N.D., came the best offensive showing of the season for the Idaho soccer team with six shots, four on goal and two goals against the Bison. Despite a strong offensive showing the Vandals were not able to clinch their first win of the season falling to the Bison 3-2. The Vandals’ record is now 0-4-0.
Freshman Kavita Battan scored the first goal for the Vandals this year off of a cross from fellow freshman Alyssa Pease in the 32nd minute of the match evening up the score going into halftime.
In the second half the Bison were able to score twice with the vandals only being able to answer back one with a penalty kick from freshman Elexis Schlossarek.
“I was happy with the offensive output today,” Idaho coach Pete Showler said. “We started executing on what we have been working on and it was effective today. As a team we still need to keep improving, but it was nice to see two players get their first career goals.”
