There’s never a dull moment around the Kibbie Dome these days.
Just a week after Idaho coach Paul Petrino rounded out his coaching staff comes news of more departures from the football program.
The official website of Stony Brook (NY) athletics reported yesterday that Idaho wide receiver Jahrie Level has transferred to the school.
This hasn’t been confirmed by the Idaho athletic department, however, Level is no longer listed on the GoVandals.com roster and Stony Brook wouldn’t make it official if Level was still on scholarship for the Vandals.
Level caught 46 passes for 538 yards and two touchdowns. Not gaudy numbers on the surface, but also consider Idaho had three different starting quarterbacks last season. Level at times was Idaho’s most explosive receiver, and with two years of eligibility left was well on his way toward becoming Idaho’s No. 1 receiver in 2013.
The reason for Level’s departure from the program is unknown to Vandal Nation.
Also noticeably absent from the official roster is defensive lineman Karel Kearney, who Idaho coach Paul Petrino previously said was possibly Idaho’s most talented defensive lineman. We’re not sure if this means he is officially off the roster or not, but it would match the pattern of departed players being taken off the listed roster.
We’ll have more when it becomes available.
