Millet, Hunt named swimmer & diver of the weekIdaho swimming and diving standouts Paige Hunt and Rachel Millet have been named Western Athletic Conference Swimmer and Diver of the Week for the week of Oct. 1-7. Though the Vandals were slaughtered by in-state rival Boise State last weekend at home, Millet and Hunt were dominant. Millet won all three of her events, beginning with the 200-yard freestyle. Her time of 1:52.34 leads the WAC. Next, Millet picked up another first-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley, with another WAC-leading time. She concluded things with a victory in the 100-yard freestyle race. Hunt, the Vandals’ top diver, qualified for the NCAA zone meet with a score of 283.80 in the 3-meter event.
Farquhar brings in three more awards
After a career performance last weekend against New Mexico State, Idaho senior kicker Trey Farquhar has collected more hardware to add to his collection. Farquhar, who nailed field goals from 55, 53, 39 and 32 yards out, was honored again as the Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award, presented by the Palm Beach County Sports Commission. Earlier in the week, Farquhar was named the WAC Special Teams Player of the Week in addition to the College Football Performance Awards National Kicker of the Week. Farquhar earned both of the awards three weeks ago for another breakout performance against Wyoming.
