Sometime between Friday night and Monday afternoon, three silhouettes for the Silent Witnesses project that have been on campus since last Wednesday were stolen. Two silhouettes with their stands were taken, one in front of the library and another by the entrance to the Teaching and Learning Center. Another silhouette was taken, but its stand was left behind by the Einstein’s entrance to the Idaho Commons.
President of UI VOX Erika Newman said that losing the silhouettes represented losing a lot of time spent and takes away from future events where they would have been used.
“That costs time and money, for (us) specifically–those materials were donated to us, then we were going to be able to reuse them,” Newman said.
Newman filed a police report Tuesday.
