Rhubarb cream cake

This recipe takes a simple cake mix and elevates it to something delicious.  With just a few added ingredients a quick and easy cake mix is transformed.

Ingredients

  • White or yellow cake mix
  • 3 cups chopped rhubarb
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 pint cream

How to

  1. Mix a white or yellow cake mix normally according to the back of the box.
  2. Sprinkle chopped rhubarb and sugar on top of the cake.
  3. Pour a pint of cream over the whole thing.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 35-40 minutes.

While baking, the cream, fruit and sugar soak through the cake, making it moist, sweet and delicious.

I’ve only tried this recipe with rhubarb, but I imagine it could be made with any type of fruit, especially raspberries or strawberries. You could also get creative with a chocolate cake mix and dark chocolate. There are many possibilities.
