In conjunction with the University of Idaho honors geography students’ “Free-cycle” program last semester, there will be a “Give-away Day” from noon to 3 p.m. Friday on the Tower Lawn. A variety of donated items including school supplies, clothes, electronics and household items will be available.
The event is sponsored by the UI Sustainability Center, CORE 163 Globalization and CORE 175 “The Earth and Our Place on It” courses.
UISC Volunteer Coordinator Alex Rheault said the sustainability center helped fund the program last year, but didn’t need to this year.
“The geography students helped collect items from the residence halls and a couple Greek houses, then kept them in storage over the summer,” Rheault said. “Now, they’re offering them to new students or anybody who wants them.”
The event is free and open to the public.
