Morgan Trewin, second-time dancer for DDD, said the performance requires a lot of time and preparation but is a fun process.
“This is one of the only outlets of dance in the area,” Trewin said. “It’s our biggest show.”
Trewin said the performance will include jazz, tap, Irish dance, ballet and 1920s Charleston pieces.
“It’s a little bit of everything,” Trewin said.
Katie Barnes, a dance major and Moscow native, said she has participated in the performance for three years and has been watching the show since she was little.
“They find (different) ways of making percussion and using things that aren’t drums a lot of the time … like this year we have a broom piece,” Barnes said. “It’s finding ways to make percussion in a unique way that will impress the audience.”
The show consists of student performances but was produced with the help of community members and past and present professors.
“Every work you see is original music and dance,” Barnes said.
Lee Fink, drummer for the show, said she is looking forward to seeing the finished product after months of preparation.
“It’s going to be nice to sit back and watch what we’ve done because it comes together in such a short amount of time,” Fink said, “It’s just a cool thing to be a part of.”
Trewin said the show is open to all ages and creates a “family-friendly, fun atmosphere.” The three-night performance begins at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Hartung Theatre.
