Women’s all-WAC predictions

The regular season for women’s basketball is over, and first-team all-WAC selections are at hand. A few players stand apart in the conference as hopefuls for the honor.
Devyn Christensen, junior Utah State guard
Christensen had a breakout season and finished the year as the conference’s leading scorer with 289 points and averages 20.6 points per game. The Idaho native also has the best free throw percentage in the WAC and leads the conference in 3-point scoring. Utah State’s first 20-win season is no coincidence.
Brittany Johnson, senior San Jose State forward
Johnson led San Jose State to its best record in years and was named team MVP. The senior finished the regular season No. 2 scorer in the conference with 282 points and an average of 20.1 points per game. The Spartans relied heavily on Johnson this year. The second-most played woman in the conference, Johnson spent an average of 35.6 minutes a contest on the court.
Ki-Ki Moore, sophomore Fresno State guard
In her first season of action since transferring from Washington State, Moore led Fresno State to a 13-1 conference record and the No. 1 seed in the WAC tournament. She’s the No. 3 scorer in the conference and impacted all areas of the game — No. 1 in steals, is 8 in rebounds and 6 in assists. She’s an all-around threat and will be dangerous for seasons to come.
Alyssa Charlston, sophomore Idaho post
Charlston emerged as the Vandals’ leader in her second season at Idaho. She’s the No. 4 scorer in the conference, averaging 15.5 points per game. Charlston also brought down the second-most rebounds in the conference and had 17 blocks on the season.
Ashlee Brown, senior Utah State forward
Brown has been solid throughout her senior campaign and ended the year as the WAC’s player of the week. She ended the season No. 6 in points scored, 5 in rebounding, 4 in assists, 6 in steals and 2 in blocks.
