The Department of Student Involvement will be releasing their own parody of the internet show “Hot Ones” that will be called “Joe’s Inferno,” according to Brandon Brackett, the Director of Student Involvement at the University of Idaho.

“I was watching [“Hot Ones”], and I thought it would be great to utilize this format to create videos that students would actually watch and also learn about different resources, clubs and student groups,” Brackett said.

The show will have 10 questions and 10 hot sauces, and as the questions go on, the hot sauces will increase in spice. The show will also feature two local hot sauces that will be featured in the episodes.

“I rotate between fun questions and questions about the services that group or club provides,” Brackett said.

The first episode will feature the Dean of Students Office. The second episode will feature ASUI.

“ASUI is being really adamant about being transparent this year and putting a lot of content out to make sure people know what we are doing and how we are spending money,” Martha Smith, the president of ASUI, said. “And I hope students get to know more about us.”

The airdate for these episodes is not yet determined, but Brackett hopes they will be out in the next two weeks. The episodes will be released through YouTube and other social media formats once the show has initially aired.

“We are building this as we go,” Brackett said.

The show will also be taking signups for other clubs, student organizations and departments to appear on the show after the first two episodes are released.

“The idea is to have fun and show people different ways that they can do more with their experience here,” Brackett said.

More information on “Joe’s Inferno” will be released soon on the DSI’s website found here.
